1999 Mount Vernon Washington Crossing the Delaware
Bicentennial Edition This image of Washington is arguably the most famous of the first Commander in Chief. Painted by German artist, Emanual Leutze, in the early 1850s, it captures the selfless leader whose stability and good judgment were a symbol of unity and a rallying point for the American people during the darkest days of the Revolution. Paul Girarden executed a color engraving from the painting, and it is the basis for this ornament. On fine porcelain, the 24-karat gold-finished frame has Mount Vernon 1999 etched upon it.
