2002 Walter Spin Dome Ornament
Thomas Ustick Walter received early training in a variety of fields before studying architecture in the office of William Strickland. Walter began practicing architecture in 1830, and he was one of the founders of the American Institute of Architects. Walter, a prominent Philadelphia architect, was selected to design extensions for the Capitol.
